Stage 14 Sunday 2 November 2008 (6 miles ) Walk from The Immaculate Heart of Mary, Hayes (Westminster Diocese) to Ealing Abbey, Abbey Church of St Benedict (Westminster Diocese) Mass - 12.00 pm The start will be at Immaculate Heart of Mary, Botwell Lane, Hayes, UB3 2AB at 9.0am. There is a train from Ealing Broadway at 8.24 which arrives at Hayes at 8.33am and the station is about a 5 min walk. There are NO trains from either West Ealing or Hanwell. Hayes Town Centre is served by a number of bus routes. There are parking facilities at Hayes and Ealing Abbey, which is 10min walk from Ealing Broadway Station.
The walk is about 6.5 miles and will take about 2hrs 40 mins (Note there are no toilet facilities en route). The route of the walk is from the Church, 500m along the road, to the canal path, which is accessed by steps, and then along the tow path to lower Hanwell. Apart from these steps the walk is on the level. It will then follow the River Brent to Churchfields, where there is a short climb, slope, through the park. It will then continue along normal paths to the Abbey so that we are there for the 12 noon mass. A buffet lunch will be available to those who have made prior bookings, by 9am Wed 29th October.
